This vintage chair really needed some help.
LONG AGO - bench built
I stumbled across this photo from the past.
This is a bench I built many long years ago from an antique bed.
That was in another life.
I sold it when the second part of my life started
I was cleansing and let it go for less then $80.
The next time I went into my favorite antique

DAMASK - french provincial highboy
Dirty and broken.
she just needed a bit of style.
She got a cleaning and drawer #4 had to be rebuilt
before priming and painting.
The hardware was removed and holes filled.
New holes drilled for the hardware and a damask paper added.
She's CLASSY now!

WHAT TO DO WITH THAT FRENCH CLASSIC - stereo cabinet
Here is what you can do
with that old French provincial stereo cabinet grandma doesn't
want anymore, but this one needs some carpentry skills.
LINING A TRUNK
This trunk has been in our family for almost 50yrs
It is a beautiful camel back trunk on the outside.
I cut thick corrugated cardboard that fit to the sides and bottom.
Then cover the cardboard using an old faux suede duvet cover I no longer used. I used hot glue to secure it to the cardboard.
When cutting the cardboard take into consideration
the front and back wall should go in place first.
Then the side walls, this will help hold the front and back
walls in place. Finally the bottom goes in pushing
against the 4 walls. Along the top edge you can now
run some hot glue behind the walls to hold them in place.
NOTE:
- Front and back wall cut to full size of your trunk.
- Cut side walls smaller to account for the front and back wall cardboard thickness.
- Cut bottom smaller all the way around to account for the 4 walls thickness.

THE WORSE OFF THE BETTER I LIKE THEM - stripped dresser
It seemed to be too much to take on for the previous own
that's when she pass it along to me.
I didn't need to use any chemical stripper for this one.
The paint was ready to be chipped and scrapped off.
Half way there, can you tell how tired I am by now?
Truth is I loved every minute of it.
See all the mess I'm making.
Oh boy chipping paint off turned legs ... JOY!
I made sure all the drawers worked great.
Added vintage hardware that would dress her up just nicely.
Followed with a few decorative appliques.
But she still seemed to need something more.

That's when she got her very own mirror.
She ending up going to an early
20th century built home in N. Vanouver with a
similar dresser I had finished around the same time.
The pair were for the two young ladies of the home.
